As far back as I can remember there has been the call to "Go Green." From the Boney M 1981 classic We Kill The World (Don't Kill The World) to Al Gore's 2006 thought provoking documentary An Inconvenient Truth to the constant reminders of global warming and the importance of reducing our carbon footprint which we hear each and every day. But here's the thing - what are we doing about it? We cannot sit back and wait for politicians and big industry to make a difference, to change things around. It simply isn't going to happen. It's going to be up to you and me to make the difference!
My name is Paul and www.going-green.co.za is my contribution to saving our planet and conserving the beauties it has to offer for future generations - our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, etc.
Here's the catch though. I am no ecologist, no captain of industry or major decision maker. I am "just" your average middle class family man struggling to make ends meet and in the process influence the world around me for the better.
It is my goal in developing this website/blog to identify "doable" and affordable ways to going green and share my experiences as my family and I embark on our journey to living a greener lifestyle. Like any worthwhile trip I am certain that the road will be long and the terrain will not always be smooth. Not every project will be a roaring success but it is my conviction that at the end of the day it will be a journey well worth the effort. So buckle-up, sit back and enjoy the ride as we embark on our journey of "Going Green"
